Pianist Katherine Tinker plays with a wide range of artists and ensembles encompassing classical and contemporary music, opera and performance art. She made her solo debut at the BBC Proms in 2019.
This season she will be giving the world premiere of works by Sara Glojarnic, Jennifer Hogan, Jessie Marino, Claudia Molitor, and Berglind Tómasdóttir. She will play as part of the Hong Kong New Visions Festival, the London Contemporary Music Festival, and Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival hcmf//. Future collaborations include projects alongside Philip Glass, Sote, and a residency in Iceland with her experimental music group, p.e.r.s.o.n.a.l.c.l.u.t.t.e.r.
Katherine frequently performs and records as orchestral pianist, including with the London Symphony Orchestra's LSO Live Label, the London Philharmonic Orchestra's Live label, and the London Contemporary Orchestra. Upcoming releases include a disc alongside Manchester Collective, and an album with her duo partner violinist Daniel Pioro, to include world premiere recordings of works by composers such as Laurence Crane, Nick Martin and Lilja María Ásmundsdóttir.
Katherine trained at Oxford University and the Royal College of Music under teachers Ronald Smith, Yonty Solomon, Ian Jones and Niel Immelman.
