Biography

Katherine is a pianist and Park Lane Group Young Artist.  She plays for a wide range of ensembles encompassing classical and contemporary music. She has performed at all major concert venues in London, and regularly performs on BBC Radio 3, most recently live on the BBC Proms and for Hear and Now. This season she will be touring with Mahogany Opera Group as Musical Director, premiering works by Catherine Lamb, Shiori Usui, RPS award winning Philip Dawson, and will play as part of concert series including Kettle's Yard New Music series and Borough New Music.

Katherine frequently records as orchestral pianist, including with the London Symphony Orchestra's LSO Live Label, and with Actress and the London Contemporary Orchestra's recent album "Lageos."  Recent releases include the Oscar nominated soundtrack to The Phantom Thread by Jonny Greenwood, which she has performed live internationally with orchestras including the Rotterdam Philharmonic.

  
Katherine studied music at Christ Church, Oxford, where she was awarded a Joan Conway instrumental scholarship. On graduating, she studied for a Masters degree in piano performance at the Royal College of Music, under teachers Niel Immelman and Andrew Ball. Her early piano studies were with Ronald Smith, Yonty Solomon and Ian Jones.
